Use this hands-free, no-maintenance, backing support when butt-welding and welding holes in sheet metal or whenever an open area needs to be bridged with a weld. Magnetic panel holds tight on its own, and your welding material won't stick to the copper. 1/8"-thick solid copper, with high-strength, high-heat magnets.

Sandbags are known by many names, including panel beater bag and shot bag. They are one of the oldest and traditional forms of panel beater tools. Used primarily for rough shaping, where dollies would be inappropriate. They are a fast and gentle way to stretch a metal sheet used in conjunction with a wood mallet, plastic bossing mallet or even a cast steel bossing hammer for extremely fast stretches. Simply by beating the metal sheet where the stretch is needed, the filled bag supports the surrounding metal while allowing enough give for the metal to expand into the bag by the hit.

The bag can be filled with lead shot (preferable) or Sand. Sand is the most common and can easily be sourced from a local garden supply store. The key is use clean sand and make sure it’s dry. Ask you supplier for kiln dried sand.

All bags are made from cow hide and have a suede outer surface and a tanned inner surface to resist wear. All our bags have a reinforced riser band around the perimeter so the entire surface can be used.
